How To Become A Busker

Busker buses are small open-air taxis or small vans painted with neon green or yellow to advertise events. Buses are often seen lining up at the edge of freeways, holding colorful lanterns and announcing upcoming concerts. A typical busker will have his name and photo on the front windshield, and sometimes a graphic of his musical style, song title and a personal message. Busker buses do not own these buses. Most tour guides are paid a fixed fee by the buskers. They call the shots and decide where to go.

Buskers are a unique breed of street entertainers. Buskers began as back-street peddlers who sold hand-made Korean arts and crafts at small shops around the city. They used to park their vehicles in neighborhoods, sell their wares and then hop on the next busker bus they saw to get to where they need to go. Buskers like to tell their stories and tell them well. Buskers can be elusive because their demands for free space and attention are high.

A typical South Korean street entertainer will have his own music, dancing, singing or juggling acts. Most buskers started out as street performers but overtime they evolved into traveling entertainers taking their traveling show on the road. In this industry you can find any combination of these 3 elements. You can get a group of buskers that all have their own act, mix in traveling acts, a DJ and your choice of a piano or keyboard to set the mood.

The average busker bus will not be more than 5 years old. As a traveling show, the busker bus has to be very sturdy, strong enough to carry the weight of the people inside as well as the weight of the equipment the busker is taking with him. Buses do not just stop anywhere they want to so you must plan ahead and make sure you see the busker at every opportunity. It is best to spot him right when he is setting up to go on his tour and the best opportunity to spot him is when he is on his last lap of the tour bus. He will be the last person to get off and you will get an excellent chance to ask him questions about his traveling show or just to say hello. Buskers like to shake hands with people and make new friends.

Buskers will try to make you feel at ease and they will do what they can to make you happy. Some buskers start off by charging very little and then charge very little. Buskers are like pimps; they always want to have their cake and eat it too. If you plan to become a busker, there are many opportunities to learn while you are traveling. One way is to be a traveling showman; you can start off by selling individual items that other buskers will enjoy along with the large tickets they buy.

There are many ways to become a busker. The internet has opened many doors for buskers. They no longer have to travel all over the world to find work. They can use their computer and turn it into their home-based business. The busking sites online will allow the aspiring busker to promote themselves and find work quickly and easily.
